The Heart Behind Poppy’s

An older man and a young girl sitting on a tractor in a rural outdoor setting with rooted trees and graves in the background, it appears to be late fall or early winter.

When I started dreaming up this business, I knew I wanted it to feel like home. The kind of place where you can take a deep breath, kick off your shoes, and know you’re in good hands. When I asked myself where that feeling lived for me, my heart traveled straight back to my grandparents’ house.

My Grandma’s gardens were wild and abundant. She tended to them with quiet care and patient hands, and her devotion became the root of my own passion for floral design. One flower in particular always grabbed my attention: the poppy. Soft and delicate, yet undeniably fierce and vibrant.

My Grandpa was never “Grandpa,” he was “Poppy.” I will never forget the comfort of his hugs, and how special I felt anytime he would tell me “love you awful lots" and “awful proud of ya, sweetie.”

My grandparents both embodied the rare kind of warmth and kindness that made everyone around them feel seen, and Poppy’s Petals & Planning Co. is my way of carrying their legacy forward.

From our first conversation to the final toast, I’m here to ease the weight of big decisions, honor what matters most to you, and create a day that feels like coming home.

I never imagined I would end up in the wedding industry…

but after planning and arranging the florals for my own wedding I unexpectedly fell in love with all things “I do.” When I’m not in wedding mode you’ll find me at the gym, tending to my gardens, or hanging out with my husband Doug, and our pup Bailey.
